The 16th International Symposium on MPS and Related Diseases will take place from July 23 to 25, 2021 as a virtual conference.

The theme of the congress will be “Quality of Life: Today & Tomorrow”. In a variety of sessions, we will discuss the different aspects that impact on the quality of life of MPS patients, we will review the basic, as well as the latest research news and hot topics.

This 16th edition of this symposium will offer many sessions in different formats like sponsored symposia, key note speeches, plenary sessions and round tables in parallel sessions with the participation of over 60 international speakers.

We are still working on it, but very soon we will post on this website the Preliminary Scientific & Family Program.

The abstracts selected for Poster or Oral presentation by the Scientific Committee will be compiled to be published in an online Abstract book for the 16th International Symposium on MPS and Related Diseases.

From March 1 to May 3, 2021

Notification of acceptance:

All abstracts submitters will be notified by end of May 2021 about whether their abstract has been accepted.

ABSTRACT SESSIONS

Presentation Formats

Accepted abstracts selected by expert reviewers can be presented in any of the following sessions: Poster Session and Oral Abstract Session. Please indicate if you would only like to be considered for Poster session only.
 
Authors should indicate the subject area (see Abstract Topics) their abstract should be assigned to.

It is the author’s responsibility to submit a correct abstract. Any mistake in spelling, grammar or scientific facts will be reproduced as typed by the author as no editing will be done by MPS.

  • Translational Research
  • Gene & Cell Therapy
  • Newborn Screening
  • Clinical Trials
  • Clinical Outcomes

Please note that the final decision regarding the allocation and the type of presentation assigned to the submitted abstract will be made by the Scientific Programme Committee.

Poster Session:

Poster Session will be displayed at a designated page within the virtual event platform that is being designed exclusively for the MPS2021 International Symposium. If your poster is accepted, you will receive a guideline of how to present your abstract in order to ensure it is easy to read on an online format and it adapts to the designated area of the virtual platform. 

Oral Session:

The Oral Sessions will have one presenting opportunity and will be divided between: “Hot Topics & Late Breaking News” and “Best Oral Posters”. The time allocated for each presentation will be determined by the number of posters selected.
 
If your poster has been selected for one of these sessions, you will be contacted by end of May, 2021.
 
As a speaker you will be required to prepare a PowerPoint presentation featuring the main findings of your work, participate on a technical rehearsal and be available for the day and time allocated for the Oral Session. 

Notification of acceptance:

Notifications of acceptance or rejection of the abstracts will be sent to the presenting author of the abstract by end of May 2021.

The presenting author will receive all correspondence concerning the abstract and is responsible for informing all co-authors of the status of the abstract.

With the notification of acceptance, abstract presenters will be informed about the time and date of their presentation and will be asked to reconfirm their attendance.

Publication of abstracts:

The abstracts selected for Poster Session or Oral presentation by the Scientific Committee will be compiled to be published in an online Abstract book of the 16th International Symposium on MPS and Related Diseases.

Accepted abstracts will be displayed at a specific ePoster page on the event platform and will need to be presented in pdf format that allow download and printing.
